Evnia celebrates the World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day!

Today is World Neglected Tropical Diseases Day!

Established three years ago, this day aims to shine a light on the dire consequences of neglected tropical diseases on impoverished communities around the world.

The term Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) covers a group of various preventable and treatable conditions such as Chagas disease, leprosy, and trachoma.

1.7 billion people around the world suffer from neglected tropical diseases due to societal and environmental factors. It is certainly a grim reality but certainly not an irreversible one. The past years have shown that the Neglected Tropical Diseases can be eradicated.

To mark this day and to raise awareness about the Neglected Tropical Diseases, we would like to invite you to find out more about them.

The World Health Organization has some great resources including the publication 𝘌𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘋𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘱𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘰𝘢𝘭𝘴: 𝘈 𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘨𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 2021–2030.
